Dhampirica Vs. Vrykolakas

Some characters I designed around Halloween. I imagined a showdown between a vampire-hunting dhampirica named Barbara, and a corpulent ghoul known as a vrykolakas.

In legends dhampirs were the children of a vampire and a human mother, and had the strengths of both - regeneration, the ability to see invisible beings, an innate sense when supernatural forces are nearby, they can tolerate sunlight and holy symbols and have no blood thirst. This made them excellent vampire hunters.

Vrykolakas by contrast are like vampires, but somehow worse - they form when the soul of a werewolf escapes the bowels of Hell and possesses a corpse, to rise again as an undead. Vrykolakas do not drink blood - they prefer to eat the organs, especially the liver, of their victims - and they kill by crushing their prey with their great weight.

I imagined that this particular vrykolakas has been abducting dhampirs from around the country, to keep a living supply of fresh dhampir liver in its larder - dhampirs can regenerate their livers in a few days, so after his gristly meal the vrykolakas would only have to wait a few days for a fresh harvest.
